Q & A with Grainne

Patients who may have not been to a dentist in a while, usually have some concerns and questions when they first join the practice. Common questions are:

Q: I haven’t been to the dentist in a while and I’m feeling scared?

A: Don’t panic! It’s never too late to get back into a healthy dental routine. All of our dentists will be happy to welcome you with a big smile to our practice. We will do our best to put you at ease and carry out your dental appointment in a relaxed and friendly environment. Our aim is to make your experience as relaxed and comfortable as we can.

Q: How often should I have my teeth cleaned and is it really important?

A: In a perfect world your dental hygienist would love to see you every six months but, depending on your oral health, it could be less or more. Regular professional cleaning will remove plaque and tartar, combined with looking after your teeth and gums properly at home, this will help keep your mouth healthy.

Q: Why do my gums bleed?

A: There could be a number of reasons for this: a build-up of plaque, gingivitis or certain medications can make your gums bleed. The best thing to do, of course, is see your dentist!
