I qualified from Trinity College Dublin in June 1999 and entered straight into general practice. After 3 years, the opportunity arose for me to work alongside Mr Arthur Greenwood in Whiteabbey and a year later I became the principal dentist. Since then I have endeavoured to increase my own knowledge by attending Nobel Biocare implant training courses (2003 and 2007), advanced surgical courses including sinus lift procedures ( 2005) and the bicon implant course ( Boston 2004).
I have also trained for the Clearstep invisible braces ( April 2007). I am currently studying for the Diploma in Restorative Dentistry through the Royal College of Surgeons in London, and then will continue onto the masters course
I have strived to increase the patient experience within the practice and to increase the service and maintain a happy, friendly and relaxed environment. We are currently reinventing ourselves in a number of ways. I see these changes as vital to enhancing the ethos of the practice which is very exciting to me.
Since I graduated from Queens University Belfast in 2009, I have developed a keen interest in preventative dentistry. I worked in a mixed NHS/Private practice before joining Abbey Dental Clinic in June 2015. I have always enjoyed improving patient’s smiles and have strived to train further in cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
In 2012/2013 I spent a year training part-time on Dr Chris Orr’s advanced aesthetic and cosmetic dentistry course in London, where I learned how best to improve smiles in a patient-centred and natural way. I have further complemented this with training in the restoration of dental implants, and in 2015 began providing patients with straighter front teeth using Inman aligners and clearSmile clear aligners. In the spring of 2016 I trained in the use of our new chairside scanner, allowing us to provide crowns and inlays without the need for impressions and with a much faster turnaround time. It is sometimes possible to have your crown fitted at the same visit!
I also provide anti-snoring devices for patients with simple snoring or mild sleep apnoea helping everyone to get a better night’s sleep.
I qualified from the University of Dundee in 2005. I continued to work in practice and teaching in the dental hospital in Scotland until I returned home August 2015. I worked in Belfast until I joined Abby Dental Clinic
I have a particular interest in restorative dentistry, endodontics and facial aesthetics. I have also trained in short term orthodontics (six month smiles). I endeavour to continue to develop my skills and keep abreast of current best practice. I strive to provide a relaxed and caring approach to your dental care.
